As humans we are all greedy, it was a difficult decision for me as well. I wasn’t sure what was the right decision and what was wrong. Am I convinced even now? I don’t know…… But do I regret it? No…… What I did to land on a final decision is talk to seniors in the industry. The batch of 2021 would graduate at the time of economic regression, this one thing played a lot of role in my decision making. Also, in the end, you’re not committing for a lifetime right! If you feel you deserve better then work for it later on. It is not a diversion it is a stepping stone.
Just give your best. Someone said this to me, work is like dating. You might not love work before closing your other options. But to know whether you love it or not, you need to give it proper time and dedication. Give it your best that is it.
I initially was introduced to Microsoft via Codess, it was the first time it was being held so we did not have much info, I had to clear a coding test then participate in a 2-day hackathon, then I was offered an internship, for PPO conversion I had 2 interviews, one was with a senior developer who asked me basics of DS and Algo and the other was with leadership team where I had to walk them through my internship and all the decisions I made during the whole course of it.
Good relations won’t result in “bad work” or “poor work ethics” being overlooked for sure. The decision is based on your work and sincerity but at the same time if you are disrespectful to your seniors then it’s not an ideal situation.
It is majorly based on the following 3 points
1) Eagerness to Learn
2) Teamwork
3) Were you able to complete the tasks allocated to you in the given time

I was able to write production-ready code and improved the accuracy by over 85%, I guess being able to actually contribute and make a difference might have been the edge. But I believe it is about the process as well, how much effort you put in.
No, it’s not like that based on the number of PPO’s they give, they determine the number of on-campus positions because it’s easier to judge someone in 40 weeks than in 40 mins.
